B.Com. Course Details

The bachelor of Commerce has an innovative curriculum designed which enables students to have good fundamental knowledge of Accounting, economics, taxation, statistics, auditing, cost accounting and finance and also a choice of some elective subjects in the final year. The students also have an option to choose their specialization from a choice of electives. B.Com. course also offers several
exposure programme such as industrial visits, social and corporate interactions, involvement in research and participation of various cells and forums.

Course Objectives:

The main objective for the curriculum is to provide the learner with an overview of the accounting and business laws, concepts and processes and an opportunity to understand the areas of economics, taxation, statistics, auditing, cost accounting and finance etc. The learner will also be able to determine a level of interest in pursuing a career in audit and tax management.

Learning Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will have reliably demonstrated the ability to:

  1. Evaluate current accounts and taxation trends based on consumer, legal and competitive environments.
  2. Identify various retail opportunities and evaluate the strategies associated with each type of opportunity.
  3. Distinguish and characterize the factors and management tools that accountancy consider and use when developing their business and services.
  4. Assess current Indian accountancy and taxation practices in their ability to respond to environmental trends.

ELIGIBILITY

Students, who have completed two-year Pre-University course of Karnataka State or JOC Commercial Art of PU Board of Karnataka or equivalent there to, are eligible to seek admission to the B. Voc., degree course.
